The Splits: An In-Depth Post to Journey to Splits – coming up soon!
The splits is a very deep leg stretch, which is an advanced asana/pose in yoga. I am going to write a full, in-depth blog post about the splits very soon, including how to slowly ease your body into it. It took me six months to get into the splits, and while I have come far, I could still get into a deeper split and progress can still be made (remember: yoga is a never ending journey– there is always something you can perfect, or poses you can get deeper in).
Again, The Splits is a very deep leg stretch, and until you have opened up your muscles through a frequent yoga practice or some other similar sport like gymnastics or dancing, you will not be able to achieve success in this pose without seriously hurting yourself. I will explain this in more detail very soon :)
