Jeffree Star Cosmetics launched five new limited edition velour liquid lipstick shades for the Summer (July 2016) and mine finally arrived, yay! As always, I am going to describe and review the lipsticks, describe each shade individually and provide swatches and swatch comparisons along with where to buy links.
Limited Edition Summer Lipstick Description/Review
The Summer Limited Edition Velour Liquid Lipstick’s come in 5 shades; Nude Beach, 714, Virginity, Watermelon Soda, Queen Bee.The packaging is different than normal, with the tops of the lipsticks being yellow instead of pink along with all boxes and paper.
The formula is the same/similar however they are a bit streaky. Jeffree Star did release these in the summer so an incident occurred where they became exposed to the heat during delivery because it’s so hot where they are being made. This means the product slightly separated and became more streaky.
This is so easy to fix though by putting them in the fridge for 30 minutes and then shaking them and letting them cool down. When you do this, they return to their normal state. Some of the shades are still slightly streaky and it’s mostly because they are light colors. You can get it nice and even of course but it just takes a tad longer than normal. They all have a watermelon scent and are really beautiful shades!
The Summer Edition is still available on both the Jeffree Star site, along with Beautylish and Morphe (links at end), but when stock sells out they will not be available again so get them while you can!!
Now, let’s talk about the five shades in the collection.
Nude Beach is a warm coral nude shade with more hints of orange than a normal pale nude. Jeffree Star describes this as a ‘Mac and Cheese Nude’.
714 is a light watermelon pink shade that Jeffree Star has released before and due to popular demand, released again this summer.
Virginity is a beautiful pale lavender shade which is a lighter version of Blow Pony and I’m Royalty (permanent purple shades). Jeffree Star describes this shade as a ‘ Nude Lavender’ shade.
Watermelon Soda is a deep pink shade with hints of coral/red. It is very similar to Masochist and Prom Night except it is more of a deep coral pink shade.
Queen B is a pure Yellow shade shade, and is the first ever yellow liquid lipstick on the market. Queen B can be used as liquid lipstick or liquid eyeliner, and there is heaps of creative things you can do with it.
