My Favourite Face Products This Month

Favourite Face Products for January 2017

Dermablend Cover Cream in Pale Ivory

The Dermablend Cover Cream is one of my go to pot foundations. It is so handy to have around and can be used for many things. I mostly use it as a base for arm swatches, to hide and erase any makeup mistakes, and as a eyeshadow primer.

I don’t really like using this alone as a foundation because it doesn’t give me the finish I like, but for everything else it is good to have around. I use this so much (nearly daily) for different things and I still have so much left because you get heaps of product.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

The Tarte Shape Tape Concealer is a thick creamy concealer by Tarte that I’m sure you hav heard of. I debated about whether to put this in here because it seems like everyone put’s it in their favorites, but I have been using this heaps this month as an eyeshadow primer having ran out eyeshadow primer. The concealer works just as well as eyeshadow primers because of it’s thick consistency, which makes it a good concealer as well.

You can’t go wrong with this concealer and I love it, but it’s not super magical (like you would think). Still, it’s a really good concealer

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Skin Twinkle Palette Volume 2

The Tarte Skin Twinkle Lighting Palette Volume 2 contains four different highlighting shades. Each shade is highly pigmented and has a smooth and buttery formula.

I have been using the two first shades Daylight and Skylight the most this month. They give a beautiful, highly pigmented glow and I have been reaching for this palette quite a bit.

I have a full review and swatch post coming up

Jeffree Star Skin Frost in So Fucking Gold

The Skin Frost Highlighter by Jeffree Star in the shade So Fucking Gold is a beautiful old gold shade that is so pigmented and looks beautiful on the cheeks. I thought this might be too dark for my pale skin at first, but it actually looks really good. It gives this beautiful light gold glow and I have used this product so many times this month.

Ofra Beverly Hills Highlighter

The Ofra Beverly Hills Highlighter contains 5 different shimmery shades . Each shade is so pigmented and creamy and buttery. You can either use the shades alone, or you can combine them together to make different shades. This month, I have been reaching for this more and using the gold and white shades together. I have also been mixing the light muted purple shade with the white shade, which looks really good too.

You can create so many different colors with this highlighter, and it’s very versatile, you can use this for shadow as well as highlight and I just think this is a very good, beautiful product.

Too Faced Liquid Lipstick in Child Star

Child Star is a matte nude liquid lipstick by Too Faced that has became my favourite nude shade. I wear this as my go-to everyday lipstick, and it also goes great with dramatic looks. I just love this shade

Huda Beauty Liquid Lipstick in Heartbreaker

Heartbreaker is a matte red shade by Huda Beauty that I am absolutely in-love with. The formula is more thick than others and some shades fill the lips in so good. Heartbreaker makes the lips look plump and smooths them out, I love this shade and it’s my go to red liquid lipstick at the moment.

ColourPop Lippie Stix in Poppin’

Poppin’ is a beautiful red pink shade with a Matte X formula. I really like the ColourPop Lippie Stix, especially the Matte X ones. The tip of the lippie stix really helps you apply the product precisely and the finish is bold and beautiful.

I like Poppin’ because it is a very pretty, bold matte pink shade.

Jeffree Star Velour Lip Scrub in Strawberry Gum

The Jeffree Star Lip Scrub in Strawberry Gum has made it’s way into my daily lip prep routine this month. Like any sugar scrub, it exfoliates the lips and gets any dead skin off, which helps lip product glide onto the lips easier.

All you have to do is wet the lips and then massage some of this into them, and then wash it off with water and your lips will be exfoliated and ready for lip product application. There is so much product in the tube so it lasts so long and is worth buying because it really helps make sure your lips are ready for lipstick. I love this scrub!

Jouer Essential Lip Enhancer

The Jouer Essential Lip Enhancer is a lip treatment that hydrates and nourishes the lips, and fixes chapped and dry lips. It can also be used as a lip primer to get the lips ready for lipstick application.

I have been using this as a night treatment to prevent my lips from drying out and to hydrate them so I wake up with soft, moisturized lips.

I started using this when I had a bad case of chapped lips that I needed fixed asap. I applied this before bed that night and the next morning my lips were so much better and the dead skin peeled off easily. After seeing how good it worked , I continued to use it and now I absolutely love this product . It has made it’s way into my weekly routine and I am going to re-buy this.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Liberty and Slave2Pink

The ColourPop Super Shock Shadows are eyeshadows by ColourPop with a unique formula- they are not fully cream and not fully powder, but a cross between cream and powder. They are so pigmented and come in many shades. This Month, the two shades that have been my favourite are Liberty and Slave2Pink.

Kylie Cosmetics The Burgundy Palette

The Kylie Cosmetics Burgundy Palette contains 9 different matte, satin and shimmer shades. I have been using this palette quite a bit this month, and you can create natural looks, or really bold looks. The shadows are really pigmented, go onto the eye easily and are generally just good to work with.

Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette

The Holy Grail Palette by Violet Voss contains 20 matte and shimmer shades. I have been reaching for this palette heaps this month because it literally contains every shade you need for a full look. You can literally use this palette by itself and not need any other shadow. I also use this palette a lot for the mattes in it, and I use the shimmers as bases for glitter/pigment to go over to create a bright pop of colour on the lid

I just love this palette, it has so many essential shades in it and you can’t go wrong with it.

Gerard Cosmetics Eternal Liquid Liner

The Gerard Cosmetics Eternal Liquid Liner is a black matte liquid liner that I have been using, and loving, this month. The tip is a beautiful shape and you can draw a precise line easily. I initially thought that it might be hard to work with as I generally prefer longer liquid liner applicators over short and thicker ones, but I found it to be very precise.

Red Cherry Lashes in Style 46

The Red Cherry Lashes in Style 46 have been my favourite lashes this month. They are wispy and look natural on the eyes, but are dramatic enough to finish the look. I normally wear Red Cherry in Style 47, which are the slightly thicker versions of these lashes, but this month I am really loving the 46’s because they are easier to apply and look nice on.

Other Favourite Products This Month

I have 5 favourite eyeshadow brushes and 1 favourite moisturizer this month;

Morphe M433 Blending Brush, Morphe M562 Brush, Morphe LGM3 Tapered Blending Fluff, MAC 239 Shader Brush (Mariah Carey Version), MAC 217 Blending Brush and  Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream

Favourite Brush/Other Products- January 2017

Morphe M433 Blending Brush

The Morphe M433 Blending Brush is a fluffy blending brush that I have been using a lot this month. It is just an average fluffy blending brush, but fluffy blending brushes are used so much in eyeshadow application so it’s good to have a few of them.

I have just discovered the Morphe M433 this month, and it has made it’s way into my favourite blending brushes list.

img_9512
Morphe M433 Blending Brush

Morphe M562 Tiny Crease Blender Brush

The Morphe M562 Tiny Crease Blender Brush is a little crease brush with loose bristles. It can be used to apply and blend colour in the crease, among other things.

This month, I have been using this brush to apply colour in the middle of the lid. The loose bristles of it disperses shadow easily to the middle of the lid only which helps when creating a look where you have a little shimmer over the shadow on the middle lid.

This brush is also a really good crease brush, especially for defining the outer V on the eye because it is thin and gets right into the creases in the eye.

img_9942
Morphe M562 Tiny Crease Blender Brush

Morphe LGM3 Tapered Blending Fluff Brush

The Morphe LGM3 Tapered Blending Fluff is a fluffy blending brush that can be used for many things. This month, I have used this brush a lot when applying glitter or eyeshadow over the top of my lipstick, which I have been doing lately to make colors pop.

I love this brush for doing this because its so easy to just pick up some shadow/glitter, and lightly dab it onto the lips.

MAC 239 Shader Brush (Mariah Carey Limited Edition Version)

The MAC 239 Shader Brush that was released with the MAC X Mariah Carey Collection is one of my favourite and most used brushes this month. When I first got these, I thought that I wouldn’t use them and would just leave them there looking pretty, but I decided to start using them. I love applying shadow with a sparkle, haha!!

The MAC 239 Shader Brush is the exact same as this but without the bling. The 239 Shader brush is the best brush for working on the lid, so if this is sold out at your local MAC, the 239 Shader is the black version of this.

MAC 217 Blending Brush

The MAC 217 Blending Brush is another one of my favourite fluffy blending brushes this month. Not much to say except that this is one of my go to blending brushes.

Kate Somerville Moisturizing Goat Milk Cream

The Kate Somerville Moisturizing Goat Milk Cream is a face and neck moisturizer. I got this in a sample from Cult Beauty a while ago and I didn’t try it until this month. I really like this moisturizer because it makes the skin feel beautiful and soft and soothes it. I love that it has no smell, I cannot stand moisturizers with scent.  I am deffo going to be buying the full sized version of this, and when I do I will write a chemical/physical review on it.

It is deffo worth the buy babe. Whenever my lips are dry I just apply it heaps, normally when I’m laying in bed and then again before i go to bed , and I’ll wake up with smooth AF lips, which is a relief. The tube also lasts forever!!! I’ve had it for so long now and it’s only nearly empty. Thank for reading beauty!
