MAC Cosmetics have a massive range of traditional lipsticks and today, I am going to be talking about them and swatching 16 shades out of the range!
MAC Traditional Lipstick Description/Review
The MAC Cosmetics Lipsticks are traditional stick lipsticks that come multiple, and i’m talking multiple (200 +) different shades. Each shade contains 3 grams (0.1 ounces) of product and is made in Belgium.
The MAC Lipsticks come in a variety of different finishes and textures– Matte, Retro Matte, Cremesheen, Frost, Lustre, Amplified Satin and Glaze. Each finish has a slightly differently formula but overall, the formula’s are very consistent across the whole range. This means that you can expect the same quality from each shade from each finish, but the end result will vary depending on what type of finish/texture lipstick you get (description of the different textures/finishes below).
The MAC Traditional Lipsticks are the BEST stick lipstick’s in the game and have been for a very long time. I have never tried a better stick lipstick and no matter what, I always go back to MAC lipsticks. I remember back in the day when liquid lipstick’s were not a thing, without a doubt, every single day I would wear MAC traditional lipsticks. They are just the best and in my opinion, will always be the best. Even though I do prefer liquid lipstick’s, there is always an occasion for a nice, traditional stick lipstick!
Each MAC Traditional Stick Lipstick costs $36.00 AUD – $17.00 USD – each and can be purchased from MAC Cosmetics Online + In-Stores and at MAC Cosmetics Retailers
Now let’s get into the shades and swatches babes!!!!
Different MAC Finishes/Textures
MAC Lipsticks come in 8 different textures and finishes including;
Matte- Completely Dry, No Shine
Retro Matte- Slightly Drier than Normal Matte Lipsticks, No Shine
Satin- Slightly Creamy, Slightly Matte
Creamsheen- Creamy and Shiny
Frost- Sheer and Shimmery
Lustre- Sheer and Luminous
My favourite MAC Lipstick Textures are Matte and Satin, and I like Retro Matte. The Retros Mattes are a bit dry and harder to apply, but they do stay all day and don’t move. I also like the Amplified and Creamsheen and Lustre finishes depending on the shade. I am not really a fan of the Frost or Glaze finishes because they are just way too sheer for my liking.
