Jeffree Star Family Collection Skin Frost Highlighter in Neffree Review + Swatches + Face Pics & DUPES
Jeffree Star recently launched a NEW and exclusive Skin Frost shade called Neffree as part of his Family 2017 Collection and today I am going to be talking about and showing you photos, swatches and ways you can apply it, as well as dupe's and similar shades by other brands on the market!!!
JEFFREE STAR SKIN FROST IN NEFFREE DESCRIPTION, PRODUCT INFORMATION + REVIEW
The Jeffree Star Skin Frost in the Shade Neffree is a limited edition (as far as I know), shimmery, lavender pink highlighter that was released in the latest collection- the Family Collection. The highligher contains 15 grams - 0.53 ounces - of product, is made in the USA and has a shelf life of 12 months. For reference, all of this product information also applies to the permanent Skin Frost's, meaning as a whole, the skin frost highlighters are CONSISTENT across the entire range which is a big, big bonus.
Neffree has a soft, powdery consistency and a blinding, shimmery/metallic finish. The formula is the exact same as the rest of Jeffree's Skin Frost Highlighters, and performs and applies the exact same way they all do.
For those who don't know, the Jeffree Skin Frost's are honestly one of the most pigmented, blinding and intense highlighters on the market. They are SO intense that you do have to make sure you are applying them to the cheek area in good lighting or you will apply way to much and end up with a mess on your face.
The Skin Frost's DO blend out fairly well, but when you apply too much, it can sometimes be hard to fix it by buffing it in, so you may have to wipe it off and try again if you go in with a heavy hand at first. I have applied them in dim lighting so many times only to take a photo with flash to realise the product is literally all over my cheeks, and doesn't look pretty. You literally just need the lightest touch to get them on your cheeks. To really monitor how much you are applying, I recommend shining your phone torch on your face, which will show you exactly how you are going in terms of pigmentation.
The highlighter works with any brush - fan, buffer, etc- but I do find that it applies better to the cheeks with a fan brush. I think this may be because Fan Brushes disperse product more lightly to the face, whereas buffing highlighting brushes tend to dig the product into the skin which can be a problem when dealing with an intensely pigmented highlighter like Neffree. However, I found that it applied perfectly with a buffing brush as welll as a fan brush, I just had to use light touches.
Neffree isn't just a highlighter for the cheek area and it can also be used on the eye area, and looks ABSOLUTELY beautiful dabbed over liquid lipstick's. As you will see in the gallery and sections below, I applied Neffree all over my eye area, and I got a beautiful, dainty simple eye look that can be worn daily or worn for a glam look. This makes the skin frost extremely versatile, and you can get your money's worth out of it.
All in all, I am ABSOLUTELY IN-LOVE with the Skin Frost in Neffree. It is my FAVOURITE skin frost for sure!!

Neffree on Lips
As I said in my review above, the Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Neffree looks ABSOLUTELY EFFFFFFINGGGGGGGGG amazing on the lips. When you dust it over the lip colour with a fan brush, it adds this pop of frosty, lavender white highlight that makes any shade look metallic. It is just stunning!!

Neffree vs Similar Skin Frosts
When I got all of my Skin Frost's out to see how close in shade they were to Neffree, my eyes automatically went to Princess Cut and Lavender Snow, which are the only two shades in the range that are very similar to Neffree.
Princess Cut is a whiter, frostier shade that has tiny bits of pink tinges but is majorly white.
Lavender Snow is a greyer, more purple toned shade than Neffree, but it has the same soft, frosty finish and looks pretty similar to it.
AND THEN I WAS LIKE WAIT........ WHAT IF I MIX PRINCESS CUT WITH LAVENDER SNOW.... AND I GOT.......
Neffree vs Highlighters by other Brands
I found 3 powder highlighters by other brands that look similar to Neffree including.........
Vivid Baked Highlighter by Makeup Revolution in Pink Lights
Pink Lights is a Shimmery Lavender Shade. It contains 7.5 grams of product and costs $4.38 AUD - $3.31 USD.
MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Soft Frost
Soft Frost is a Pale Lavender, Duo-Chrome Shade. It contains 9 grams of product and costs $33.00 USD - $48.00 AUD.
ColourPop Pressed Powder Highlighter in Flutter
Flutter is a Duochrome Pink Shade. It is part of the My Little Pony Collection, contains 6.5 grams of product and costs $8.00 USD - $10.50 AUD.
