Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Contour Palette Description, Product Information + My First Impressions
The Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Contour Palette is a fully matte, powder eyeshadow palette that contains 12 shades. Three of the shades in the palette are larger than the others, and these 3 shades all contain 2.3 grams (0.08 ounces) of product. The other 9 shades in the palette contain 1.1 grams (0.04 ounces) of product, giving the palette a TOTAL of 16.8 grams (0.6 ounces) of product. It has a shelf life of 12 months and is made in the USA.
The Shade & Light Eye Contour Palette can be broken down into THREE quads- a Neutral Quad, a Cool Quad and a Warm Quad.
Each Quad contains 4 eyeshadows that can be categorised into 4 types - a Base shade, a Contour shade, a Define shade and a Highlight shade.
The Base shades in the palette are the larger one's, and each quad contains 1 large shadow and 3 smaller shadows.
As you can see, all of the shades are powder and have a matte finish, and they therefore can be used for multiple things. You can use them to contour and highlight the face, to set makeup/control oil and shine, to fill in the brows and of-course, to define the eyes and create smokey, matte looks. This palette is also a really good one to have around when you are working with palettes that have all shimmery shades, or a limited amount of shadows with matte finishes.
I have only played with a few shades, and a full, in-depth, shade by shade review with eye swatches is coming as I play with and get to know the palette, but so far I have noticed that the quality is high. The eyeshadows blend out extremely easy and blend well. They are very powdery and have a lot of fall out, but I haven't found that a major problem yet.
The Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Contour Palette can be purchased from Kat Von D Online and Sephora (Internationally)
